Clitoria ternatea is well known tropical perennial climber herb from family Fabaceae with slender downy stem and the plant commonly known as 'Butterfly pea', a traditional Ayurvedic medicine.
The plant can be found throughout the tropical region of India, growing wild and also in gardens, bearing white or blue flowers and it has been used for centuries as a memory enhancer, nootropic, antistress, anxiolytic, antidepressant, anticonvulsant, tranquilizing and sedative agent.
